About
I am a 20 year old working guitar player, singer, songwriter and performer, living in Torquay, Victoria, Australia. I frequently perform at a range of gigs; fronting my pop-rock band "The Ethan Farmer Band" on guitar and vocals, playing accompanying guitar in my soul/blues duo, the "Ivan & Ethan Duo", and sitting-in alongside other renowned blues and jazz artists around the state.
My guitar influences are extensive, but sit largely within the blues and jazz genres; SRV, Larry McCray, BB King, George Benson, Albert King, Joe Pass, John Mayer, Robert Cray, Albert Collins, Hendrix, whilst my musical influences are broader still, including artists such as Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Taj Mahal, Gregory Porter, Ella Fitzgerald and more.
In 2016, whilst in Year 11 of High School (and aged 15), I completed Berklee Online’s Advanced Blues Guitar course, achieving a Grade ‘A’ and a GPA of 4.0.
In 2017, I enjoying guitar tuitition with Berklee alumnus Thomas Lorenzo, at his Creative Guitar School in Melbourne.
Over July and early August 2019, I completed The Aspire 5 Week Music Performance Intensive at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, and was awarded a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music as a fulltime undergraduate!
